Bring your current glasses, a list of medicines, previous eye records or reports, and your medical history (especially diabetes, blood pressure, thyroid). For children, bring previous school-screening notes and their glasses if any.

Allow time for dilating drops — they take 30–40 minutes to work and blur near vision for a few hours afterwards. It is sensible not to plan driving immediately after a dilated examination.
