Squint Evaluation

Squint evaluation measures how much the eyes deviate, in which directions, and why — the map that guides all treatment.

The assessment includes vision testing for each eye, refraction (often with drops in children), cover tests that reveal the deviation, and measurement of the angle in all gaze directions. Eye movements are checked to see whether any muscle is under- or over-acting.

For adults with double vision, additional charting maps exactly where the double images separate. Where a nerve or medical cause is suspected, further investigation or referral is coordinated.
